If by some miracle of the internet, you ever see this - we should do a restaurant together. We can get together, reminisce about Northern Virginia youth golf, (Herndon Highschool co-captain 1993/94), eat some fine pig products and design a great restaurant. Drop me a line and I will send you a restaurant portfolio and references.

If we take David Chang at his word that when he opened his first place that the goal was not authenticity nor originality but simply to put out "tasty and delicious food" - that he wasn't setting out to win awards, accolades and open a small restaurant empire that would change the way we think about restaurants - then that is the model for my practice.
My goal is not to be ground breakingly original or experimental nor to stridently be authentic in regional architectural traditions but to put out simply "tasty" architecture - to make small changes to peoples lives and make them smile a little. From such a modest goal can come something amazing through small, cumulative interventions into our built environment.
I am happy to announce that I have begun design work for the renovation of 8 Ashmead St. in downtown Charleston SC. This should be a very good project with a detail focused kitchen, pantry and mudroom renovation as well as painting throughout, floor finishing and general maintenance upgrades.
